Things are going well in your relationship; so why does your mind keep2026-08-27 · LinkedIn · staticlikes 2comments —unplanned

Things are going well in your relationship; so why does your mind keep hunting for the crack? A late reply becomes proof of something. A slight shift in tone becomes a whole story. This is relationship anxiety, and it quietly wears down even a healthy relationship. Many of the women I coach are already carrying stress from work and home. And then the relationship becomes one more place the anxious mind goes to work. Here's the painful irony: overthinking doesn't protect you. It steals the very closeness you're afraid of losing. The mechanism is simple. Uncertainty feels unbearable, so the mind tries to resolve it by analysing everything. But overthinking never concludes; each answer just produces a new question. The more you analyse, the less certain you feel, because you're feeding doubt instead of trust. If this sounds familiar, a few things that genuinely help: → Name the fear underneath. Behind the analysis is usually one fear: of abandonment, of not being enough. Naming it takes away some of its charge. → Separate story from fact. Write down what actually happened, then the story your mind added. The gap between them is your anxiety talking. → Resist constant reassurance-seeking. It soothes for a moment, then the doubt returns hungrier. Sit with the discomfort instead of outsourcing it every time. → Ask a clear question instead of decoding silence. Honest conversation replaces imagined worst cases with reality. → Build a full life outside the relationship. When one person becomes your only source of security, anxiety grows. A fuller life leaves less room to spiral. The goal isn't a mind that never worries. It's a mind you no longer obey without question. You can love without living in fear. What helps you tell the difference between a real concern and an anxious story? Come explore more on my blog. #WomenAndWellness #TheGameOfChange #PersonalGrowth #MindsetCoach #OntologicalCoaching
